Spaghetti and Meatballs

I went harvesting in my garden yesterday morning and made a delicious homemade pasta gravy.  Roma tomatoes, peppers and onions along with basil were all grown in my little garden this year.

I threw those ingredients along with lots of garlic into my crockpot and set it for two hours on low. I then pureed everything in the food processor and put the now pureed sauce back into the crockpot for another 3 hours.  At that time I also added a tablespoon of tomatoe puree, salt and pepper.

In the meantime I handrolled the meatballs.  I never really measure.  Ground meat, breadcrumbs, milk, egg (beat) garlic and shredded onions, shredded romano cheese, salt, pepper to taste.  I think that's it. There are tons of recipes around.   Bake at 400 for about 30 minutes.

A trick to the pasta not sticking is to throw in some butter when you drain it. Delicious!  Top with some freshly shredded romano cheese and dinner is served!
